We asked Hotel Ändra team members to share their ideal “2 Days in Seattle” in concert with the Seattle Convention and Visitors Bureau’s travel tool at 2DaysInSeattle.com. You can find our team submissions on the Hotel Ändra 2 Days in Seattle page. Here is one wishful entry by our Senior Sales Manager Heidi:
On my wishful 2 days in Seattle, I took the perspective of bringing my adult daughter Natalie for a true girl’s weekend. I also learned that exploring the city as a tourist makes me very happy! Here goes…
We pull up curbside at Hotel Ändra in the early afternoon on a Saturday. My daughter and I are warmly greeted by the valet team before we enter the hotel lobby. The warmth and glow of the fireplace and the buzz of guests is inviting. After checking in, we go to our lovely Superia Room and prepare to explore Seattle.
We start with a walk to Pike Place Market to visit the French bakery Le Panier. Searching the pastry case for the perfect treats, we order a brioche and some very French macaroons. Delicious! The people watching is great, as we wander the market and enjoy the sites, sounds and aromas! From Beecher’s cheese to DeLaurenti specialties, we take in the food and the great view of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains on our way to Steinbeck Park. Oh the views! Ferries, boats, West Seattle, Mt. Rainier; on a sunny day you can see it all. Then we head north to fabulous Olympic Sculpture Park. The park consists of a 9-acre outdoor sculpture museum and beach. More views and great art work to enjoy.
As “happy hour” approaches, we head east to Belltown. Such an easy walk to everything and great exercise too! There are so many great places to have a drink. We start at List with a nice glass of red wine, some calamari and an arugula salad. Next, on to Local 360 for a few more bites to eat. As a special treat, before we head back to Hotel Ändra to prepare for our evening, we stop by Salon Ciba and I get my hair done by Bronson. It’s just across the street from Local 360. How convenient!
For dinner and our night out, we go to Capitol Hill. So much to do and so many places to enjoy! We start off at vegetarian restaurant called Plum Bistro before hitting Q Nightclub to dance. For a special treat, we topp off the evening with a double scoop of salted caramel and honey lavender ice cream at Molly Moon, which is right around the corner.
Sunday morning starts with Mass at St. Ignatius Chapel at Seattle University. It’s a quick cab ride away and we grab an Americano at Cherry Street Café, just steps away from campus. Afterward, we have brunch at Dahlia Lounge or Lola Restaurant (I can’t decide between these two excellent Tom Douglas spots) before we check out. It’s been a great stay and we had two wonderful days in Seattle!
